Andrew Coit is a Principal at Venture Fuel Partners. He is dedicated to bringing both a highly-technical and leadership development approach to the venture capital investing process. To date, Andrew has deployed more than $1MM USD in capital with average returns over 25% IRR. For Andrew, investing in early stage companies boils down to an alignment discussion between leadership team on a long-term, symbiotic partnership. His background leading both established and startup teams and organizations allow him to bring strong strategic and pragmatic insight to the VFP leadership team.
In addition to his role at Venture Fuel Partners, Andrew serves as the Project Manager and Business Development Manager for Automated Solutions at National Oilwell Varco, where he has worked for seven years. Before NOV, Andrew spent worked in the defense industry at Lockheed Martin to develop rapid prototyping initiatives that had applications in both the public and private sectors.
Andrew was born and raised in Houston, TX and has lived and worked in various locations in the USA, Canada, The Netherlands, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Malaysia, Singapore, Colombia, and Mexico. Andrew holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and minors in Biology, Spanish, and Music from Southern Methodist University (SMU). He speaks fluent English and Spanish while being conversant in Dutch. When not working, Andrew can be found singing, salsa dancing, hiking, skiing, cooking, or traveling to explore the world’s art and food culture.
